The touch is actually comforting. There had been a time where he would've shied away from such a gesture, feeling he was being implied to be weak. But he'd come to relish it instead, and the solace it offered felt calming.

"I never... expected to be a mother," he laughs, "If it wasn't obvious."

Really, the impossibility of it should be at the forefront of his mind. Yet that wasn't what most vexed him. Through everything it was all about getting back home to continue his skating that remained most important.
