A. Welcome to The Ship
Arriving to the ship for the first time can be disorientating, but there are maps everywhere. A good night's sleep must have been had, because you woke up feeling fantastic. Feel free to check out the shops or restaurants... Or maybe you'd rather go for a walk around the beautiful Biodome! Whatever you decide to do, it's sure to be enjoyable.
Perhaps you woke up here already pregnant... Better check with your scientist before heading off through the ship, since your health is very important to them.
B. Surprise!
You didn't know it before, but you're now officially pregnant. What are you pregnant with? Another member of the ship's child? An alien? A monster? Whatever it is, you're going to have to explain to someone (maybe your best friend... maybe more) that you're pregnant now, and that's bound to be an interesting conversation... Good luck.
Of course, if you're really unfortunate, you might be going through a very fast nine hour pregnancy. Did you just grow bigger right in front of someone's eyes?
C. The Pregnant Life
Things certainly seem to be improving now that you're pregnant. Shops are more willing to help you and people are generally nicer. There's even that stranger who's been making eyes towards you. Well, hey, you're already knocked up with whatever's inside, so might as well go off and have some fun if that's your thing.
D. Cravings
Now you're craving something. Is it food? There's plenty of places to get food.
Something to do? Plenty of things to do around the ship! Maybe get a part time job until the baby's born?
Someone to do? Well, no one's saying you can't offer yourself up. After all, there's always someone interested in the pregnancy experience.
E. The Baby's Coming
You've got another issue to deal with now. You can feel it happening, the thing moving through your body. One small problem, though? You're not anywhere near the scientists. So someone else has got to help you out.
Better go quickly, seems like this one is moving very fast.

Her own hand on her belly is more sensitive than she expects, and she screws her eyes shut. "I'm... okay. I think. It's just..." She waves her hand idly, waiting for the sensation to go away. Surely he has some idea of what she's talking about, though.
no subject
Looking between her stomach and her face, it's clear he wants to say something but is unsure about it. He's mostly kept to himself in his time here - he wasn't exactly an ace at socializing back home, and now even surrounded by people in his same predicament he felt like a freak. Conversation didn't come easily. At the same time, he felt the urge for human contact grow as the days passed. Was it another part of the weird changes his body was experiencing?
Finally, he manges to ask, "Is it moving?"
no subject
Without warning she takes his hand and places it against her bare belly to feel.
no subject
"Y-you're sure this is okay?" he stammers after a moment, looking up at her with worried eyes.
no subject
"There..."
no subject
Which gets harder everyday.
"Aha, well, there it is," he whispers before looking up at her, "I keep expecting to wake up."
no subject
"They must have chosen us for a reason, right? Because they thought we'd be good mothers... so it's not like it's a mistake that they chose us, or anything."
Her hand curls around his and she squeezes it. "So I'll bet we do really well, bringing new lives into this place."
no subject
"I never... expected to be a mother," he laughs, "If it wasn't obvious."
Really, the impossibility of it should be at the forefront of his mind. Yet that wasn't what most vexed him. Through everything it was all about getting back home to continue his skating that remained most important.
no subject
She nods to his own, baggy-sweatshirt-covered belly. "Is yours moving, too?..."
no subject
Somehow, he can't bring himself to say the baby. It feels like such a foreign concept in spite of him knowing very well it's the correct terminology. His hands move to rest on his hidden bump absentmindedly as his brow furrows in thought.
no subject
"Mine seemed to grow kind of fast... nine months seems like kind of too long of an estimate, really."
no subject
"They uh, told me this will take a few weeks. They gave me an exact number but it was all kind of a blur."
Really, a lot of information had been fed to him when he wasn't quite in a state to handle it. He'd been blackout drunk when he'd signed whatever contract he'd gotten himself into.
no subject
"I just know that most human pregnancies are supposed to take that long... but it felt like it's been growing a little all day."
He? She? She should really find out the baby's gender (if it has one) and start calling it by that... "it" feels too impersonal.
She shifts again on the chair, moving her large body's center of balance again and nearly falling out, catching herself with the wheel. "Mm... still not used to it, really."
no subject
There's some guilt that he obviously isn't struggling with the body changes the way she is. Nevermind that he also has the advantage of being in peak physical condition in spite of the life growing inside of him.
no subject
She pockets the quarters and slowly stands, wobbling like a large whale of a girl, and looks around. "Mm... maybe there's a couch around here or something..."
no subject
"Let me help... er, if you don't mind."
no subject
no subject
There's a beat or two of awkward silence before he scratches the back of his head and realizes he hasn't even given his name yet.
"Oh. Uh. My name is Yuuri."
no subject

His hands wander again to his belly, touching it as if it's made of fragile glass.
"I'm not sure why they wanted me. And really, the timing is pretty bad. But I guess there's something to be said for getting to experience something I never would have otherwise... I'm scared. But also a little curious."
no subject
"Probably because they thought you'd take care of their young... it's an enormous thing of them to ask you or any of us, and it involves quite a lot of trust. They must have decided that you were worthy."
She smiles gently at him. "It's kind of a reassuring thought, isn't it?"
no subject
"I guess so."
He can't help it. He feels compelled to lean against her, seeking out the closeness and affection. Damn it Victor. Getting him to relish this kind of thing when he used to do fine without it.
no subject
"It's nice to know we're useful, at least..." She yawns a little, feeling a little warm and sleepy, but comfortable. She finds herself leaning a bit closer to him still, their heads brushing together as they rest side by side.
